The challenge
Since 2013, Ladies Insolvency Professionals has run networking events in Sydney that help women in insolvency and restructuring build genuine business relationships and referral networks. The volunteer committee, all senior lawyers, liquidators and trustees in bankruptcy, needs a website that sells tickets, takes payments and manages attendees reliably, without them having to think about technology or security.
What we did and still do
- Built a modern, professional and user-friendly website, with event pages, registration, ticketing and online card payments, and continue to host and maintain it.
- Ticket delivery, attendee management and attendee exports for the committee.
- Fixed a defect in the event platform’s attendee export with a custom extension, so the committee could keep working while the vendor released its own fix.
- Continuous security monitoring: malware and vulnerability scanning, login protection and prompt updates when components need patching.
- Uptime and certificate monitoring, so the site and checkout stay available.
- End-to-end testing of the live purchase flow before each event goes on sale.
Privacy and security
Attendees share names, contact details and employers, and pay online. Card details are handled by a PCI DSS-compliant payment provider and never stored on the website, admin access is restricted and protected against brute-force attacks, and personal information is limited to what running the events needs.
Outcome
A modern, professional website the committee is “incredibly happy with”, with events sold and managed online and no manual handling of payments or attendee lists.
